Consumer value and tax FMV
Homeowners may mean what a friend paid, payback, savings or cash flow when they ask what a system is worth. Tax-purpose FMV and a homeowner’s decision value can differ because the purpose, ownership rights, assumptions and cash flows differ. Our approach draws on the founder’s more than 20 years of transaction experience. The current calculator provides visible remaining-benefit and contract-buyout calculations with assumptions you can inspect.
Existing-system valuation: first working release
The valuation tool calculates an indicative present value of remaining system benefits and a separate PPA/lease buyout comparison. It supports solar only, storage only, and combined systems in DC, Maryland, West Virginia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Rhode Island. Results change with the inputs; the homepage no longer uses the fixed sample-number interaction.
The remaining-system estimate uses the specified useful life, energy savings/export payments, additional confirmed incentives, battery energy shifting and program payments, and entered owner costs. The contract comparison uses the remaining contract term and payments avoided, less ownership costs. They answer different questions.
State-average electricity rates are EIA August 2026 starting points, not customer-specific avoided rates. Production, tariffs, export credits, ownership of incentive rights, costs and remaining life require user input or confirmation. No automatic utility-tariff lookup, contract interpretation, hourly battery dispatch, new tax benefits, financing, terminal value or backup-power premium is included. The calculator methodology documents the formulas and sensitivity cases.
These are modeled economic estimates, not certified appraisals, binding purchase-option prices, tax conclusions, or guarantees of savings, eligibility, or negotiation outcomes. They do not change any contract or establish rights to equipment or incentives. The personal benefit estimate is not a determination of arm’s-length market FMV.
Services and pricing
The browser calculator and its local downloads are available without an account. Proposed paid reports, subscriptions, API access and professional introductions are not active. Prices and other marketing examples elsewhere on the homepage describe proposed offerings; illustrative tickers are not current market feeds.
Provider introductions
Prospective recipient: [Redball Energy] (bracketed placeholder), not the site operator. Intake and sharing remain disabled. A future introduction requires a named recipient, disclosure of relevant affiliation or compensation, and specific permission to share information.
Provider-disappeared guide
The homeowner help page provides an organizing checklist and official resources. It does not determine legal obligations, cancel debt, diagnose electrical equipment, or guarantee recovery.
Names and brands
Third-party names belong to their respective owners. Their appearance does not establish affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement or verification of this service.
