Privacy and your choices

Updated October 24, 2026 · Privacy notice version 2026-10-24-v3

New contact signup is temporarily disabled. The disabled signup form does not submit information, and the backend rejects new signup requests without saving them. Provider sharing and outreach through this site are not active. The operating entity has not yet been selected. The contact and consent features are preserved for activation after setup.

The collection descriptions below explain the prepared signup flow when enabled. Privacy and opt-out requests remain available now; information you deliberately submit through those routes is used to handle your request.

What we collect and why

We collect the email address, optional name, phone number and ZIP code, stated interest, selected permissions, submission time, and the version and exact wording of the consent you selected. Phone numbers are needed only for call or text choices. We use these details to fulfill your requests, provide selected updates, manage requested introductions, maintain consent evidence, and honor opt-outs.

The valuation calculator and provider-disappeared guide run in the browser. Their inputs, selections and checklist marks are not uploaded or saved by the application. Downloads are generated locally on your device. When enabled, the separate signup form will send submitted contact details to our secured Supabase backend. This site is hosted on Vercel. Hosting and database providers process technical request and security information, including IP addresses and timestamps. Our endpoint uses a one-way hash of request IP information for short-term abuse controls; it does not store a raw IP in the contact record.

Optional address lookup

Clicking Look up address in the valuation tool sends the entered address through our Vercel-hosted endpoint to Esri ArcGIS for address matching, with the US Census geocoder as a fallback. Matched coordinates are checked against a local Virginia Energy territory snapshot for Virginia, or a local regional ORNL/HIFLD snapshot for other supported states. Hosted polygon services are a fallback if local coverage or files are unavailable. Public EIA-861 records help filter household-distribution candidates; this classification runs locally on our server without sending your address to EIA. These dated boundaries can overlap; utility confirmation may be required. Address suggestions appear automatically while you type in the address search. Where available, approximate location supplied by our host is used to rank nearby suggestions when you have not entered a city or state; it is not stored by the application or used to determine your utility. Partial address text and the optional city/ZIP are sent through our server to Esri as you type. You can calculate without entering an address. We do not save this address in our application database, include it in the downloaded valuation report, or send it to providers or AI. These services and our host process requests under their own technical logging and retention practices. You can calculate without using the lookup.

Choices and provider introductions

Prospective recipient: [Redball Energy], a bracketed placeholder for the entity to which a requested introduction may be sent. It does not identify the site operator or activate any sharing. The actual recipient will be confirmed before permission to share is requested.

All marketing boxes start unchecked. Email, calls and texts are separate choices. Consent is not required to buy goods or services. You may ask Solar Blue Book to discuss an introduction, but that request does not authorize sharing with a provider.

Before an introduction, we will identify the particular provider, explain what information would be shared, disclose any affiliation or compensation, and obtain your separate permission. No provider has been selected as the default recipient. We do not distribute or sell contact lists.

This version has no advertising pixels or targeted advertising. Global Privacy Control is recorded with your consent receipt; no optional marketing or provider-sharing permission is inferred from a visit. You can opt out below.

Unsubscribe / opt out

Use this form to stop all Solar Blue Book email, call, text and introduction-request permissions recorded through this site. No account or fee is required. Enter the email or phone number used for signup. We do not disclose whether a contact record exists. You may also reply STOP to a marketing text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or email johnmarciano@gmail.com. We record web opt-outs immediately; removal from active outreach must follow the applicable legal deadline. A later signup does not automatically override an existing suppression.

Other privacy rights

To request access, correction, deletion, a copy, restriction, or appeal a privacy decision, email johnmarciano@gmail.com. We may need proportionate identity verification. Do not send identification documents or financial account details with an initial request. Applicable rights and response periods depend on your jurisdiction.

Retention and security

We restrict contact records to authorized operators; public visitors cannot read them. We retain contact details while needed for the requests you selected, subject to deletion requests and legal obligations. Inactive contacts are subject to review after 24 months. Consent evidence and minimal suppression records may be retained longer to establish permissions and honor withdrawals. Abuse-control records hold a keyed IP hash and request counter; their rolling 15-minute window resets when a later request arrives. Hosting-provider logs and backup retention follow provider settings.

AI and training

We do not use your contact submissions to train AI models. The contact endpoint does not send your details to an AI model. Before adding AI contract analysis, we will disclose its purpose, providers, retention and applicable data-use controls.
